MCDC School Visits
Safe Kids and Dogs
The MCDC's new venture of visiting Marmora classrooms with dogs is in full swing and is going very well. The purpose of these visits is to about responsible dog ownership and to demonstrate how to deal with dogs they meet in the streets.
Several classrooms were visited at Marmora Senior and Sacred Heart Schools during January and February 2007. The dogs and people were Margaret Webber with her Samoyed Kelly, Peter and Gabriella Hamley with their Eurasiers Nicholas, Jessie and Patronus, and Sophie Hausner with her Sheltie Jimmy.

The visits have been informative and fun. The message delivered is very important for children to avoid being hurt by dogs and for dogs to have a better life. The presence of the dog in the classroom adds to the impact and helps greatly in imprinting the information.
